It is a warm to cool growing epiphyte with an occasionally branching stem carrying, arranged in two rows, distichous, imbricating, laterally flattened, mottled, fleshy, ovate, obtuse that sometimes are minutely and unequally bilobed apically leaves and a monopodial stem that blooms in the summer and fall from the axils of the leaves with a very short, 2 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
